Payroll Specialist

Contract, 6 months with potential for extensions and permanent conversion Hybrid- Pawtucket, RI Must Haves: 3+ years of payroll processing experience(multiple pay cycles and/or groups) Must be comfortable with systems/run reports, etc Plus: UKG/ Ultimate Software or Kronos Some ERP experience( They use M3) Comfortable with Excel Manufacturing industry exposure Job Description: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for preparing and processing all weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls, and the maintenance and processing of our timekeeping system and payroll reporting processes. The Payroll Specialist also serves as a resource for employees with payroll and timekeeping questions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Communicate with Managers and Supervisors to resolve timesheet issues. Extract hours from timekeeping system and import into payroll system. Import incentives, short term disability, adjustments, etc. into payroll system. Calculate short term disability payments and retro payments. Reconcile job changes that impact pay between timekeeping and payroll systems. Perform audits on payroll results. Transmit direct deposit and 401k files to bank and recordkeeper. On an as needed basis, prepare manual checks. Transmit state, federal tax liabilities, and wage garnishments to payment services vendor. Stays current with payroll and timekeeping laws. Acts as backup for supervisor. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Position requires 3+ years of payroll experience. Strong time management & computer skills. Excel skills a must. Vocational or business skills. High school or vocational school degree required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
