We are seeking an experienced Operations & Quality Manager to lead manufacturing operations, quality assurance initiatives, and process improvement efforts at our Elk Grove Village facility.
Position Summary
The Operations & Quality Manager will oversee daily manufacturing operations while driving quality standards, production efficiency, inventory control, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong analytical skills, manufacturing experience, and a proactive approach to operational excellence. MUST BE AUTONOMOUS WITH EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day production activities to ensure efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery
- Monitor production schedules, staffing, and workflow optimization
- Improve operational processes to reduce waste and increase productivity
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and logistics teams to maintain material flow
- Develop and track KPIs related to production, efficiency, and delivery performance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
Quality Management
- Lead quality assurance and quality control programs across manufacturing operations
- Develop and maintain SOPs, inspection procedures, and quality documentation
- Investigate product defects, customer complaints, and non-conformance issues
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Conduct internal audits and support supplier quality initiatives
- Maintain compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Supervise and mentor production and quality personnel
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams on manufacturability and quality improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations and quality management
- Experience in plumbing products, metal fabrication, industrial manufacturing, or related industries preferred
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with ERP systems and production planning
- Ability to analyze data and drive operational decisions
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of ISO quality standards is also require d
