Civil Engineer Intern

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to support our Oak Ridge, TN office. We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Civil Engineer Intern to join our team. This position is ideal for a student or recent graduate with little to no professional experience who is eager to gain hands‑on exposure to civil engineering projects. The intern will support engineering staff with design, documentation, and general project assistance. Key Responsibilities Assist engineers with preparation of plans, drawings, and technical documents Support design efforts using AutoCAD and other engineering software Perform basic calculations and data entry under supervision Assist with preparation of reports, spreadsheets, and project documentation Conduct research on codes, standards, and project‑related topics Help organize and maintain project files and records Participate in field visits, site inspections, or surveys as needed Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines Required Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and concepts Working knowledge of: Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel AutoCAD Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Good written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Completion of introductory civil engineering coursework (e.g., statics, materials, transportation, or structural basics) Familiarity with engineering drawings and plan sets Previous internship, co‑op, or academic project experience Work Environment Office-based with occasional field work depending on project needs Collaboration with engineers, designers, and project managers Opportunity for mentorship and professional development Learning Opportunities Exposure to real‑world engineering projects and workflows Development of technical and professional skills Compensation Details $25 - $26 an hour The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good‑faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
