The Children's Guild Outpatient Mental Health Center (OMHC) is part of The Children's Guild a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming how America educates and cares for its children. Our OMHC provides evidence-based, trauma-informed outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, and families across the Greater Baltimore/Washington region. Position Summary

The Outpatient Mental Health Clinician & Service Delivery Coordinator is a dual-role position that combines direct clinical service delivery with administrative coordination responsibilities. In the clinical capacity, this position provides individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and families experiencing mental health challenges. In the service delivery coordinator capacity, this position supports the operational efficiency of the OMHC including scheduling, service authorization, documentation oversight, referral management, and coordination of care across internal programs and external providers. This role is ideal for a licensed clinician who brings both strong therapeutic skills and organizational leadership instincts.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families with diverse mental health needs including trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, and co-occurring conditions
• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans aligned to client goals and evidence-based best practices
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, DBT-informed practice, and other clinically appropriate frameworks
• Monitor and document client progress toward treatment goals and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated
• Facilitate group therapy sessions as assigned including psychoeducational, process, and skills-based groups
• Provide crisis intervention services and safety planning for clients experiencing acute mental health crises
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, prescribers, and medical providers to coordinate integrated care for clients with co-occurring medical and mental health needs
• Provide mandated reporting as required by Maryland law for any suspected abuse or neglect

Treatment Documentation & Compliance

• Complete all required clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes including intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and prior authorization requests
• Ensure all documentation meets COMAR, CARF, and OMHC regulatory and licensing standards
• Maintain client records in the electronic health record (EHR) system in accordance with HIPAA and agency policies
• Participate in clinical supervision, peer consultation, and quality assurance reviews

Service Delivery Coordinator Responsibilities

Scheduling & Access to Care

• Manage and maintain the OMHC client scheduling system including new client intake appointments, ongoing therapy sessions, group schedules, and provider availability
• Coordinate client waitlist management prioritizing access based on clinical urgency and service availability
• Monitor scheduling gaps and work proactively with clinical staff to maximize service delivery capacity
• Ensure timely scheduling of initial appointments for new referrals target first appointment within established access-to-care timelines

Referral Management & Care Coordination

• Receive, screen, and process incoming referrals from schools, hospitals, community partners, and self-referrals
• Coordinate warm handoffs and transitions of care between OMHC services and other Children's Guild programs including therapeutic schools, group homes, and TFC
• Maintain relationships with external referral sources and community partners including pediatricians, school counselors, DCS, and community mental health organizations
• Facilitate coordination of care with outside providers including psychiatrists, hospitals, PCPs, and specialized service providers

Authorization & Billing Coordination

• Initiate and manage insurance authorizations for outpatient mental health services including initial authorizations, concurrent reviews, and appeals
• Coordinate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims
• Monitor authorization expirations and initiate renewals proactively to prevent gaps in service
• Assist clients and families in navigating insurance coverage, Medicaid eligibility, and financial assistance options

Quality & Operational Oversight

• Track and report key OMHC service delivery metrics including no-show rates, wait times, authorization approval rates, and client retention
• Identify operational gaps and recommend process improvements to enhance service delivery efficiency and client experience
• Support preparation for OMHC regulatory audits, CARF accreditation reviews, and licensing site visits
• Assist in onboarding new clinical staff to OMHC scheduling, documentation, and authorization systems

Team Communication & Collaboration

• Serve as a communication bridge between clinical staff, administrative staff, billing, and leadership
• Facilitate regular coordination meetings between clinical and administrative teams
• Support clinical director with staff scheduling, coverage planning, and operational reporting

Qualifications

Required

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related clinical field
• Active Maryland licensure LMSW, LGPC, LCSW, or LCPC required
• Minimum 2 years of direct clinical experience in an outpatient or community mental health setting
• Experience with children, adolescents, and families with complex mental health and trauma histories
• Knowledge of COMAR OMHC regulations, HIPAA, and mental health documentation standards
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Ability to manage competing priorities across clinical and administrative responsibilities

Preferred

• Experience in a dual clinical/administrative or clinical coordinator role
• Familiarity with Medicaid billing, prior authorization processes, and insurance coordination
• CARF accreditation experience
• Experience with trauma-informed care frameworks TF-CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
