Certified Recreation Therapist

PART-TIME up to 7.5 Hours per week! Simple Steps, LLC currently has a part time position open in the Atascocita, TX area. This is an employee position. Job Opening: Recreation Therapist Preferred Knowledge/Education Minimum of Bachelor’s Level Degree required in one of the following: Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation, and/or related degree to Therapeutic Recreation Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification Experience with physical and cognitive impairments/disabilities Experience with Traumatic Brain Injury Experience with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Veteran/Military Experience Job Description The primary focus of the therapist is to help make life more rewarding for our Veterans with neurological disorders, physical disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries by providing delivery of high-quality home and community services. The therapist will support and carry out quality client care plans, ensure resources are engaged effectively to meet client needs, orient and educate clients and their families about health care plan services and procedures, support accurate and complete documentation, and supply timely data for generating accurate invoices. The therapist works in a team effort with Case Managers and family members to best serve Veterans through dynamic social, recreational, wellness, educational, and individualized life skills training and activities in the home and community. The therapist reports directly to their supervisor. Please note: This position is to provide in person services.
