Business Developer/Account Executive - New York

In this role, youll combine entrepreneurial drive with a growth mindset to secure opportunities that align with NORESCOs Sustainability Services objectives./ppYou are a proven sales leader with a track record of exceeding targets and mastering all phases of the Professional Services sales cycle. You thrive on building relationships with key decision-makers at both new and existing client organizations. Your deep industry connections and active involvement in associations, community organizations and boards set you apart./ppYou bring experience identifying and delivering services or projects as a technical consultant or in close collaboration with one and understand the full project lifecycle. As a recognized leader in sustainability and decarbonization, youve earned a reputation as a trusted advisor who solves complex client challenges by presenting NORESCOs end-to-end solutions to achieve their sustainability and decarbonization goals./ph2What Youll Do/h2pAs an Account Executive for our Sustainability Services consulting team, you will:/pulliDrive growth by expanding NORESCOs market share in New York City and the surrounding region/liliLead client engagement maintaining strong relationships, ensuring satisfaction, and serving as a critical component of our long-term success./liliAcquire new clients and grow existing accounts, leveraging NORESCOs technical expertise to identify, sell and promote sustainability and decarbonization solutions/liliCollaborate with internal experts to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions that solve complex client challenges./li/ulh2Key Responsibilities/h2ulliDevelop and manage a qualified sales pipeline while maintaining key accounts and clearly articulating the value of NORESCOs solutions and service offerings./liliBuild deep client understanding including organizational structure, processes, strategies, and decision-making dynamics to strengthen relationships and uncover opportunities./liliCreate and execute winning strategies for proposals and solicitations, adjusting as needed to secure new business./liliApply sound business judgment to evaluate opportunities, balancing risk and reward when qualifying or disqualifying prospects./liliGuide clients through the buying process, offering tailored solutions that help them meet energy and decarbonization policies, goals, and standards./liliCollaborate with management and technical teams to pursue new projects, enhance existing relationships, and develop business development strategies for market expansion./liliEngage with NORESCO leadership to shape pursuit strategies, client messaging, and relationship mapping./liliCommunicate opportunity status and next steps to the sales team, highlighting risks and ensuring alignment during regular meetings./liliIncrease market awareness among existing and prospective clients through proactive outreach and engagement./liliMonitor industry trends and gather market intelligence on clients and competitors to inform strategy./liliLeverage competitive insights to create compelling reasons for clients to choose NORESCO./liliMaintain visibility in industry associations and community organizations, representing NORESCO as a thought leader./liliUtilize NORESCOs CRM to track opportunities and manage client interactions effectively./liliProvide executive-level briefings on strategic matters impacting sales opportunities./liliDevelop proactive account plans and opportunity strategies, including pricing discussions and decisions./liliBuild strong relationships with client and partner organization leaders, ensuring long-term collaboration./liliManage accounts post-sale, maintaining client satisfaction and driving additional business to meet evolving needs/li/ulh2Required Qualifications/h2ulliHigh School Diploma or GED/lili7+ years of experience in sales, business development, or consulting within a professional services or energy engineering firm; OR technical engineering experience within an energy engineering firm, with demonstrated ability to transition into a client-facing role./li/ulh2Preferred Qualifications/h2ulliBachelors Degree highly preferred./liliProven ability to engage with a wide range of senior-level stakeholders, both internally and within client organization./liliStrong knowledge of market trends, state and local ordinances/laws (e.g. LL84, LL87, LL88 and LL97), and utility incentive programs./liliAbility to analyze and provide strategic feedback on competitive intelligence, customer expectations and industry trends to inform sales decisions for sustainability services./liliCollaborative approach to working with facility staff, executive leadership, sales and business development teams, and technical subject matter experts, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences./liliSkilled in developing and delivering technical and non-technical presentations for public-facing events, including tradeshows and industry association meetings./liliExceptional public speaking, presentation, and writing skills, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely, and professionally in both verbal and written formats./li/ulpPay Range/ppThe annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually.
