Job Description and Duties

Under California Government Code 14200, this position is eligible for hybrid telework for eligible applicants residing in California. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the department and is subject to change as business needs arise. Candidates who reside outside of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded. In accordance with CSD’s Policy Directive 22-001, all telework employees utilize a shared workspace or “hotel” space when working on-site and may be required to report in-person to headquarters and/or off-site locations more frequently as determined by management. The Department reserves the right to modify or cancel telework agreements and/or conditions as needed.

Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Programs, the incumbent is responsible for the planning, oversight, and performance of the Energy Technical and Quality Assurance Unit, the Climate Investment and Energy Reporting Unit, and the Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization Unit (referred to as energy programs). The incumbent is the primary consultant and advisor to the Deputy Director of Programs on matters related to functions, activities, and responsibilities for these units.
