Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a 2nd year and above Corporate M and A and Private Equity Associate to join its New York NY office on a hybrid basis. This role is focused on sophisticated corporate transactions with a strong concentration on private equity deal work, supporting clients through the full lifecycle of acquisitions, investments, dispositions, and related strategic matters. The firm offers a well established platform with a collaborative, partner led approach and the ability to work with colleagues across offices on complex matters. The working model is hybrid with an expectation of regular in office presence. The Opportunity You will advise on middle market and upper middle market private equity transactions, including buyouts, add on acquisitions, and exit transactions, with hands on involvement in diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and managing signing and closing processes. Ideal Candidate Profile The firm is seeking a 2nd year and above Corporate M and A and Private Equity Associate with: At least 2 years of corporate transactional experience Meaningful private equity deal experience, including direct responsibility for key workstreams Experience drafting and negotiating core transaction documents and overseeing diligence and closing deliverables Admission to the New York Bar, or eligibility to waive in promptly Comfort working in a hybrid schedule with an in office expectation of 3 days per week Why This Opportunity Stands Out This is a strong fit for an associate seeking consistent private equity deal flow, direct partner access, and the chance to take on meaningful responsibility while working within a national platform.
