Senior Staff Accountant

A great UHY distribution client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant . The ideal candidate will have strong general accounting experience, advanced reconciliation and month-end close skills, and a solid understanding of GAAP. The Senior Staff Accountant role is an onsite position with hybrid available after a training period. This is a direct hire position. Record financial transactions and post journal entries for revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity. Perform bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and balance sheet reconciliations. Support monthly close activities and ensure financial records are complete and accurate. Review accounting activity and investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions, and variances. Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide meaningful insights to management. Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests. Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP and applicable accounting standards and regulations. Review existing accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy. Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures and accounting documentation. Assist with reporting, analysis, and other general accounting projects as needed. Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready financial records. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, MBA and/or public accounting experience preferred, but not required. Four to five or more years of progressive general accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting. Experience with accounting software and financial reporting tools. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experienced with large accounting ERP and dashboard tools. Strong account reconciliation and month-end close experience. Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Dependable and consistent with strong attendance.
