Journeyman Electrician - Night Shift

Night Shift Journeyman ElectricianClark Electric is seeking an experienced and dependable Night Shift Journeyman Electrician to perform commercial, industrial, and facility electrical work during scheduled overnight projects.This position is intended for an electrician who is comfortable working a consistent four-day, 40-hour night schedule from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Night-shift assignments may continue for several months at a time, depending on project requirements.The ideal candidate can work independently, lead helpers or apprentices when assigned, troubleshoot electrical systems, complete installations safely, and communicate clearly with project managers, facility representatives, and Clark Electric's internal service team.Typical Work Schedule:Four 10-hour shifts per weekStandard shift: 9:00 PM–7:00 AMNight assignments may last several consecutive monthsWorkdays may vary depending on customer and project requirementsOccasional overtime, weekend work, or schedule adjustments may be requiredMust be consistently available and reliable for overnight workPrimary Responsibilities:Perform commercial and industrial electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshootingComplete electrical work in occupied facilities during scheduled shutdowns or after normal business hoursInstall and repair conduit, wiring, panels, disconnects, lighting, controls, transformers, and related electrical equipmentTroubleshoot electrical circuits, equipment, lighting systems, and power distribution systemsRead and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and project documentsPerform circuit tracing, equipment testing, voltage checks, and electrical system diagnosticsCoordinate planned shutdowns and system energization with customers and Clark Electric managementLead and direct apprentices or electrical helpers when assignedMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shiftDocument completed work, materials used, labor hours, jobsite conditions, and additional work identifiedProvide clear shift updates and turnover information to Clark Electric's service and project management teamsFollow all OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E practices, electrical codes, customer safety policies, and Clark Electric proceduresMaintain company tools, vehicles, testing equipment, and assigned materialsRepresent Clark Electric professionally while working inside customer facilitiesMinimum Qualifications:Minimum of five years of commercial or industrial electrical experienceJourneyman electrician certification or license where required by the applicable jurisdictionStrong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and the National Electrical CodeDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical systems independentlyExperience working with 120/208V and 277/480V electrical systemsAbility to bend and install EMT and rigid conduitAbility to terminate electrical panels, disconnects, transformers, motors, lighting controls, and related equipmentAbility to read electrical plans, specifications, and panel schedulesAbility to safely use meters, testing equipment, power tools, ladders, and liftsValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordReliable transportation and the ability to report consistently for overnight shiftsAbility to communicate clearly with customers, supervisors, and other tradesAbility to pass applicable background screening, drug testing, and customer site-access requirementsPreferred Experience:Commercial service and troubleshooting experienceIndustrial or manufacturing facility experienceRetail, healthcare, education, property management, or occupied-facility experienceElectrical shutdown and overnight renovation experienceLighting retrofit and lighting controls experienceMotor, contactor, control circuit, and equipment troubleshooting experienceExperience supervising apprentices or small electrical crewsOSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, aerial lift, or related safety certificationsPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to climb ladders and work from aerial liftsAbility to work above ceilings, in electrical rooms, and in indoor or outdoor environmentsAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work overhead for extended periodsAbility to work safely during overnight hours while maintaining attention to detailAbility to wear required personal protective equipmentIdeal Candidate:The right candidate is dependable, safety-focused, self-motivated, and comfortable taking responsibility for nighttime electrical work.
