Director of Operations – Kitchen & Bath Cabinetry

EFY Sales, LLC is a WBE-certified supplier of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, custom casework, bath accessories, and specialty items for General Contractors, Developers, Landlords, and Property Managers. Based in NYC, EFY specializes in multi-family projects , particularly in the affordable housing sector .

Important Note:
EFY is seeking an experienced operations leader with a strong background in construction-related project management, cabinetry, architectural millwork, case goods, or similar manufactured building products. Experience managing multiple projects and leading Project Management teams is essential.

Position Overview:
The Director of Operations (DoO) leads EFY’s Project Management team and oversees project execution across the company. The DoO is responsible for ensuring projects are properly planned, coordinated, tracked, and delivered on time and within budget. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for people, processes, vendors, manufacturers, project workflows, financial performance, and continuous operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and develop EFY’s Project Management team.
• Oversee active projects from pre-construction and design coordination through procurement, delivery, and closeout.
• Establish and enforce consistent project management processes and standards.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, margins, deliverables, and overall performance.
• Identify project risks, delays, scope changes, and potential change orders before they become problems.
• Serve as the escalation point for complex project and client issues.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, General Contractors, vendors, manufacturers, and internal EFY teams.
• Oversee vendor and manufacturer performance, including quality, production schedules, lead times, logistics, and delivery.
• Ensure project scopes, specifications, drawings, approvals, and procurement requirements are clearly defined and documented.
• Lead value engineering and cost-control efforts where appropriate.
• Maintain strong communication with clients regarding project status, risks, schedules, and solutions.
• Review project profitability and identify financial or operational issues requiring corrective action.
• Support EFY leadership with forecasting, workload planning, staffing, and operational planning.
• Develop and maintain systems for project tracking, procurement, vendor coordination, and client reporting.
• Create clear operational visibility across EFY’s project portfolio.
• Improve processes and workflows to reduce errors, cost variances, delays, and unnecessary fire drills.
• Establish accountability throughout the Project Management team and ensure consistent follow-through.
• Collaborate with EFY leadership to continuously improve operational efficiency and support profitable growth.

Required Industry Experience:

• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in construction, project management, cabinetry, architectural millwork, case goods, manufactured building products, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of multiple concurrent projects , not simply individual projects.
• Proven experience leading, coaching, and holding Project Management teams accountable.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, architectural plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and project closeout.
• Experience with cabinetry, casework, millwork, or similar manufactured building products is strongly preferred .
• Experience with multi-family and/or affordable housing projects is a strong plus .

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

• Professional, client-service approach and team-first attitude.
• Ability to build and implement repeatable processes and hold teams accountable to them.
• Familiarity with NYC construction, multi-family, and affordable housing sectors.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant operations and/or project management experience.
• Prior experience managing a Project Management or Operations team required.
• Experience in cabinetry, architectural millwork, case goods, or related building products strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
