As a Security Officer Part Time Licensed Unarmed Patrol in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. This role involves supporting staff and visitors with strong communication and customer service while contributing to a people-first team culture built on reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity.

- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through established channels.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, assisting with entry procedures, directions, and/or general information while following site protocols.
- Support staff, visitors, and/or members of the public with de-escalation, verbal intervention, and communication during challenging interactions, consistent with post orders and training.
Minimum Requirements:
- A New York State Security Guard License is required.
- At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
