APM Terminals Liberia is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to support the development of a positive and productive employee experience. In this role, you will partner with leaders, employees, unions, and external stakeholders to strengthen employee relations practices, ensure compliance with labour legislation, and foster a workplace culture built on trust, fairness, and engagement. You will play a key role in supporting employee relations matters, investigations, collective labour activities, conflict resolution, and compliance initiatives while helping the business proactively identify and address workforce challenges. Key Responsibilities Support and resolve employee relations matters, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and workplace concerns. Conduct and support investigations relating to employee misconduct, grievances, and policy violations. Ensure compliance with company policies, labour legislation, and employment conditions. Analyze employee relations trends and provide recommendations to improve workforce engagement and retention. Support collective bargaining activities, union engagements, and labour relations initiatives. Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution between employees, unions, and management when required. Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders while supporting labour-related litigation and compliance processes. What We Are Looking For Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Law, or a related field. Minimum 4 years of Human Resources and/or Employee Relations experience. Experience working in a unionized environment, including labour relations, grievance management, and collective bargaining support. Strong knowledge of employment legislation, employee relations principles, and workplace investigations. Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
