Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) in Peoria, Illinois. This position involves providing acute care for neuro medical-surgical patients, including trauma and neuroscience cases. Candidates are required to bring their active Illinois nursing license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Specialty: Medical Surgical With Telemetry (MS TELE)
• Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated; BLS (AHA) certification; NIHSS certification; must have at least 1 year of clinical experience including level 1 trauma experience; previous travel experience (no first-time travelers); prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit
• Shift Details: 12-hour shifts, with every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday considered as the weekend shifts) and every other holiday required
• Additional Information:
  • Charge nurse available 24/7; nurses do not take assignments unless short and above ratios
  • House supervisor available 24/7
  • Experience with high flow oxygen therapy for stable COVID patients (rare cases)
  • House wide telemetry monitors (Phillips) nurses do not need to read strips
  • Float in rotation with staff; can float to general unit floor with full team; when floated outside of the general unit, only perform skills they are competent in and are assigned with a trained nurse
  • No scrub color requirement; tattoos covered on duty; no piercings besides ears
  • 2 days of unit-specific orientation with educator and preceptor
