This contract opportunity near Canton, MI, calls for a skilled OT who thrives on fostering growth and independence for school-aged children. You'll collaborate with faculty, families, and support staff to ensure each student reaches their highest potential in both academic and everyday activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license (state requirements apply)
- Background in school-based therapy, with experience in other areas such as home health, healthcare, and teletherapy considered a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Proficiency in adapting therapeutic strategies to fit individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Flexibility to deliver services in-person or virtually, as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop personalized intervention plans for students with diverse needs
- Work closely with educators and parents to support student participation in classroom and extracurricular activities
- Document progress, manage caseloads, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
- Deliver occupational therapy services in both school and home health settings, tailoring sessions to maximize independence and developmental progress
- Incorporate teletherapy methods when appropriate, ensuring consistent support for remote learners
