Financial Analyst
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical Financial Analyst for a company in Athens, Ohio to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys digging into numbers, identifying trends, and translating financial insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analyses and performance summaries
- Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning
- Analyze financial data, trends, and key performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and operational insights
- Compare actual results to plans and forecasts, highlighting drivers of change and recommending corrective actions
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and long-range financial plans
- Create projections and dashboards that support leadership decision-making
- Maintain organized financial documentation and ensure accuracy across reports and data sources
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and support cross-departmental financial needs
- Support ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and continuous improvement initiatives
This is a direct-hire, full-time position, hiring immediately. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Pay is commensurate with experience, in the range of $45K to $55K annually. This company offers a full benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in financial reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, or forecasting
- Proven experience in a Financial Analyst or similar analytical role
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis
- Above-average Microsoft Excel skills (Lookups, IF/THEN logic, PivotTables, linking, Goal Seek, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with financial planning software, ERP systems, or BI tools
- Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency
