Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

As a Special Education Teacher in this role, you’ll have a direct and lasting impact, working closely with a small caseload of just 6 students to provide targeted instruction and individualized strategies. Qualifications:

• LBS1 certification, as required for Special Education in Illinois
• Proven experience working with students who have moderate to profound support needs, preferably in a school or middle school environment
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build rapport with young adolescents
• Collaborative mindset for working alongside general education staff, parents, and related service providers
• Resourceful, adaptable approach to problem-solving and individualized instruction
• Passion for inclusion and advocacy in educational settings

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) for a small caseload of 6 middle school students
• Deliver engaging and adaptable lessons, using evidence-based practices tailored to each learner’s needs
• Document progress, conduct assessments, and participate in IEP meetings with families and staff
• Create a supportive, structured classroom environment that fosters growth, confidence, and independence
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for each student

Enjoy a schedule that offers 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with the contract starting on August 13, 2026, and continuing through May 31, 2027. Your expertise will be valued with weekly pay at a competitive rate of $41 per hour.
