Operations Supervisor

We are seeking an Operations Supervisor in Grand Rapids, MI! 2nd shift hours Saturdays required Job Summary The Operations Supervisor monitors all operations including: process shipments, prepare paperwork, communicate freight status and dispatch drivers for pickup. The supervisor will be the primary interface between Pilot Freight Services, customers, sales, system operations and vendors, and provide quality customer service while meeting company policies and procedures. Essential Functions Responsible for ongoing process analysis of operational systems, procedures, and staffing to drive continuous improvement in operating efficiencies. Assist District Manager with general tasks. Ensure safe operations and compliance with OSHA regulations, applicable laws, and Pilot’s corporate policies. Effectively train, supervise, coach and evaluate all direct reports to foster good communication and morale. Review operational key performance measures monthly and benchmark data to drive corrective or improvement strategies. Communicate freight status and any problems to customers, vendors, other Pilot stations and personnel. Load/off-load/build trucks for optimal routing. Other duties as assigned. Skills / Competencies Customer service background preferred. Ability to read key elements of financial statements in support of functional roles and responsibilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Superior organizational and time management skills. Approachable and motivated. Knowledge of systems utilized on logistics. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment. Detail-oriented and analytical. Pay Range $60,000‑$65,000 per year The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
