Physician Assistant - Chronic Pain Management Specialist

Summit Counseling and Therapy Group is actively seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) with expertise in pain management to join our team at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center located in Evans Mills, New York. Work Environment

The Surgical Center operates in a modern, fully equipped facility that emphasizes safety, comfort, and efficiency. Our services require a hands-on approach, and this position is onsite, ensuring that you are part of the daily operations and collaborative patient care. You will work Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and communication are crucial for success.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations and diagnoses of patients presenting with chronic pain, establishing individualized treatment plans that align with best practices.
• Identify and recommend candidates for interventional pain management procedures, discussing these options with patients and their families to ensure informed consent.
• Manage and prescribe chronic pain medications in accordance with evidence-based guidelines, continuously monitoring patient outcomes and adjusting protocols as necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to devise comprehensive care strategies, fostering an integrated approach to pain management.
• Perform detailed physical examinations and utilize diagnostic tools effectively to form accurate clinical impressions.
• Analyze laboratory results and imaging studies to diagnose acute and chronic illnesses, adhering to approved protocols throughout the process.
• Develop, implement, and review patient management plans, engaging in ongoing consultations with supervising physicians to optimize care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves patients experiencing chronic pain due to various conditions, including but not limited to post-surgical pain, neuropathic pain, and musculoskeletal disorders. Our focus is on tailoring interventions to meet each patient's unique needs, recognizing the complex nature of pain and how it affects overall health and well-being.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred.
• Active licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, particularly in pain management or a related specialty.
• Outstanding diagnostic skills, with the ability to develop treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for fostering effective relationships with patients and healthcare colleagues.
• A demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a surgical or pain management center.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient encounters and manage treatment plans.
• Additional certifications in pain management or related specialties are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
