What You’ll Do As a Staff Accountant, you will support the day‑to‑day accounting needs of multiple clients while learning from senior members of the firm. Your work will include: Preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate general ledgers Completing bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations Supporting monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes Preparing financial statements and internal client reporting Reviewing profit‑and‑loss activity and researching discrepancies Assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll‑related accounting Organizing financial records and maintaining clean supporting documentation Supporting bookkeeping cleanup and catch‑up projects Helping clients improve the accuracy and organization of their accounting processes Communicating with clients to gather information, answer questions, and resolve routine issues Assisting senior accountants with special projects, financial analysis, and advisory work Because we are a CPA firm, you may also gain some exposure to tax‑season projects and supporting documentation. However, this is a true staff accounting role , not a tax‑preparation position. What You’ll Learn This role is designed to help you build a strong, well‑rounded accounting foundation. You will have the opportunity to develop experience in: Full‑cycle accounting Month‑end and year‑end close Financial statement preparation Client communication and relationship management Accounting for multiple industries and business models Cleanup and process‑improvement projects Financial reporting and analysis Advisory and fractional CFO support The practical side of helping businesses make better financial decisions You will work closely with experienced professionals who want to teach you the “why” behind the work, not simply hand you a checklist. Who We’re Looking For You may be a strong fit if you: Have at least one year of professional accounting experience Hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field Understand fundamental accounting concepts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and the general ledger Are comfortable working in Excel and accounting software Ask thoughtful questions and enjoy learning new things Take pride in producing accurate, organized work Can manage multiple priorities and follow through on deadlines Communicate professionally with teammates and clients Are open to feedback and motivated to keep improving Want to build a long‑term career rather than simply find your next job Experience with QuickBooks Online is helpful but not required.
