Active Motion and Movement Physical Therapy is searching for a passionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join our orthopedic outpatient practice in Paterson, New Jersey. Located in a state-of-the-art, 5000 square-foot sports medicine facility, we take pride in our commitment to providing exceptional care. Our small, collaborative team consists of two seasoned physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA) dedicated to delivering optimal patient outcomes, primarily for individuals with private medical insurance. We are known for our patient-centered approach and our dedication to advancing the field of physical therapy.

Work Environment

Your work setting will be onsite at our rehabilitation facility in Paterson, NJ, which features cutting-edge equipment and resources designed to facilitate high-quality therapy services. The facility's layout promotes collaborative work and interaction among team members, ensuring a supportive atmosphere. Our typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced professional life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to understand their objectives and needs, developing tailored treatment plans accordingly.
• Maintain a case load of one patient per hour, allowing for dedicated attention and personalized care.
• Leverage manual therapy techniques to enhance mobility and reduce pain, while teaching patients about their conditions and treatment options.
• Implement exercise programs designed based on evidence-based practices to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and overall well-being.
• Monitor patient progress through regular assessments and adjust treatment plans as required based on ongoing evaluations.
• Document all patient interactions and therapy sessions accurately using EMR software, such as WebPT, to maintain up-to-date patient records.
• Work collaboratively with team members and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients.
• Motivate and encourage patients through each stage of their recovery, fostering a supportive environment that promotes healing and wellness.
• Advocate for non-surgical alternatives and educate patients about lifestyle modifications to improve their health.
• Participate in continuous education opportunities to expand your clinical knowledge and skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice primarily serves individuals with orthopedic conditions, often post-injury or post-surgery, who rely on our expertise to regain their strength and mobility. We take pride in personalizing our approach based on the unique needs and goals of each patient, ensuring they receive comprehensive and individualized care throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New Jersey; candidates with no record of board or disciplinary actions will be prioritized.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques and the ability to create effective exercise programs for diverse patient needs.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, specifically WebPT, is highly preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting is strongly desired but not mandatory.
• Experience in patient education and advocating for a healthy lifestyle is a plus.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.

Compensation and Benefits
