Companion Animal Territory Representative - Northern, MI

Job Summary Our Territory Representatives interact face to face with customers, understand their needs, and consult to offer the right solutions. They work collaboratively in field sales teams, supporting our customer‑centric business model, and are responsible for selling our Animal Health Companion Animal product portfolio across the Northern Michigan territory. The role requires outreach to veterinary clinics, shelter facilities, and corporate accounts, while ensuring that the Animal Health division is perceived as a source of value and technical innovation. Responsibilities Communicate the Animal Health product portfolio in a meaningful and relevant way to each customer, customizing discussions based on their needs. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, meeting with key personnel and decision makers to understand practice structure, business model, and influencers. Develop a customer strategy and account plans that outline interactions, solutions, partner involvement, and growth opportunities. Collaborate with National Account Managers, Corporate Account Team, and Distribution Field Partners to focus on key accounts and drive occupancy and sales growth. Analyze monthly sales results and manage expenses within budget guidelines. Identify and select programs or services within the Animal Health resources to meet customer needs and provide education and training opportunities. Work with leadership and Field Professional Services to develop and deliver offerings that address desired customer needs. Maintain current understanding of Animal Health products, industry trends, and competitor landscape, articulating relevant insights throughout the organization. Establish and meet learning and development objectives agreed with leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 0–3 years of sales experience OR high school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant work experience (e.g., professional sales, distribution, marketing, military service, or veterinary/healthcare/scientific field). Required Skills & Abilities Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Strong motivation and focus on achieving measurable results. Commitment to collaboration and problem‑solving within a team environment. Ability to independently understand evolving customer needs and align solutions accordingly. Proficiency in selling techniques, managing multiple accounts at various sales stages. Experience in identifying, developing, and managing a mix of accounts, including complex ones. Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to use an iPad. Flexible travel requirement: overnight trips and occasional weekend activity. Ability to work independently and within a team, adapting to changing processes to meet customer needs. Preferred Skills & Abilities Sales experience within the Animal Health industry. Knowledge of animal health biological and pharmaceutical products. Experience working with distribution partners. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $79,200.00 – $124,700.00. Employees are eligible for an annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement (401(k)), paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
