Civil Litigation Attorney

Position Overview We are seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join our growing Raleigh office. This role is ideal for an attorney with approximately 2+ years of civil litigation experience who is looking to gain meaningful hands‑on litigation experience while working closely with experienced shareholder attorneys. The ideal candidate will have exposure to civil litigation matters and be comfortable handling discovery, drafting legal documents, participating in depositions, and assisting with case preparation. Experience in insurance defense, construction litigation, or insurance coverage disputes is preferred. Key Responsibilities Assist with the management of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents Conduct legal research and analysis Participate in written discovery and document review Assist with and conduct depositions Support trial preparation and arbitration proceedings Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and other litigation events Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties Work closely with shareholders and senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation management Gradually assume increased responsibility for case handling as experience and proficiency grow Qualifications Required J.D. from an accredited law school Active license to practice law in North Carolina Civil litigation experience through private practice, clerkships, internships, or related legal work Strong legal writing, analytical, and organizational skills Ability to manage competing deadlines and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment Interest in developing litigation, deposition, and courtroom skills Preferred 2+ years of civil litigation experience Experience with insurance defense matters Experience involving construction defect or construction‑related disputes Experience participating in depositions, hearings, or trial preparation Familiarity with insurance coverage and related litigation matters Why Join Wall Templeton & Haldrup?
