Engineering Director, Digital Platform

Abbott seeks an Engineering Director to lead global platform software engineering for the AlinIQ Digital Health Platform. This role directs engineering execution, platform architecture, cloud strategy, cybersecurity, and operational excellence across foundational technologies supporting diagnostics digital solutions.
Responsibilities
- Direct engineering execution and platform architecture for global AlinIQ Digital Health Platform
- Lead cloud strategy, cybersecurity, interoperability, and AI enablement across technology ecosystem
- Manage data platforms, developer experience, and operational excellence initiatives
- Oversee large multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, architects, and security professionals
- Drive modernization of legacy systems into scalable, cloud-native solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 15+ years progressive software engineering, platform engineering, or enterprise architecture experience
- 10+ years leading global engineering organizations across multiple geographic regions
- 5+ years architecting and operating enterprise-grade SaaS and cloud-native platforms at scale
- Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, Kubernetes, and modern design patterns
- 5+ years leading UX and product design teams with design systems knowledge
- Proven experience with healthcare compliance, HIPAA, GDPR, and regulated software development
