A new opportunity from BMRS Hospitality Recruitment: Executive Chef for Detroit Foundation Hotel from Aparium Hotel Group Detroit Foundation Hotel welcomes guests to the heart of Downtown Detroit from a beautifully restored 1929 landmark that once served as the city's firehouse headquarters. The 100-room hotel is a spirited gathering place where travelers and Detroiters alike connect with the Motor City's creative and resilient soul.
Culinary programming at the property is anchored by The Apparatus Room, renowned for its New American cuisine and commitment to locally sourced ingredients from regional farmers and artisans. Recognized with multiple Restaurant of the Year awards, The Apparatus Room offers thoughtful seasonal menus from breakfast through dinner. The hotel also features a Chef's Table showcasing rotating local talent, a welcoming lounge, and event spaces with stunning city views. With a commitment to culinary craftsmanship, the team utilizes in-house fabrication and a dedicated curing room.
Detroit Foundation Hotel is seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to build on the property's celebrated culinary reputation and lead the next chapter of its dining program. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who brings experience from acclaimed kitchens, values locally inspired cuisine, and creates menus that reflect Detroit's rich history and vibrant community. The role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in acclaimed kitchens and a respect for food that represents the surrounding community. Strong financial acumen and people management skills are essential, with an emphasis on cultivating a positive kitchen culture through mentorship and development. Executive Chefs with a track record in both lauded restaurants as well as boutique and/or luxury properties are encouraged to apply.
Competitive base salary in the $120-$140k salary range with a strong bonus plan. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision options, unlimited PTO, 401k with matching, and negotiable relocation assistance.
