Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides specialized perioperative care to patients emerging from anesthesia in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Ensures patient safety, monitors vital signs, and manages recovery processes efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' condition upon arrival and continuously monitor vital signs.
• Implement appropriate interventions to stabilize patients during recovery.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Document patient progress and applicable clinical information accurately.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure smooth patient transitions.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide necessary life support.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Prior experience in PACU or perioperative nursing preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Demonstrate strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
• Flexibility to work dayshift, call shifts, and weekends.
