Retail Pharmacist | Elyria, Ohio

Job Description

A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced pharmacist for a 4-6 week contract assignment starting November 19th. This role supports a complex patient population taking multiple medications daily, requiring exceptional communication skills and deep knowledge of retail pharmacy drug therapies.

Location:

Elyria, OH

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

Provide expert medication dispensing and consultation for patients managing chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
Counsel Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients with patience and compassion, addressing literacy barriers effectively
Utilize Pioneer Rx software to manage prescriptions and patient records
Ensure accuracy and safety in all pharmacy operations while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications:

Licensed pharmacist with current OH license
Strong retail pharmacy experience, ideally in specialty retail settings
Demonstrated expertise in managing complex chronic disease medication regimens
Excellent patient communication and consultation abilities, with proven experience working with vulnerable populations
Experience using Pioneer Rx software is highly preferred
