Event Marketing Manager

Events Activation Manager
Events at Slang AI are a direct pipeline driver, and you'll own making them happen. Your calendar will be a mix of owned activations, partner events, and in-market experiences — dinners, happy hours, co-hosted activations with partners, and hosted gatherings for enterprise prospects and customers across key territories. You'll be responsible for end-to-end execution: sourcing venues, building run-of-show documents, coordinating with partners and vendors, and managing logistics so the right people are in the room. The through-line is the same across all of it — every event should feel intentional, well-executed, and worth people's time.
You'll report to the Head of Marketing, who owns Slang's marketing strategy and will lean on you to turn that strategy into rooms full of the right people. Day to day, you'll work closely with Sales and Partnerships — aligning with co-hosts on format, responsibilities, and brand standards, and helping Sales build a repeatable playbook for territory activations they can actually use to open and advance deals. You'll also own the relationship with Slang's logistics and shipping partner, keep materials, swag, and collateral on track, and feed event performance into post-event reporting.
This is a remote role with travel to events, activations, and company offsites. You'll operate with a lot of independence — bringing structure, flagging issues early, and keeping things moving without needing to be closely managed. You'll use tools like HubSpot to manage guest lists, capture leads, and track post-event follow-up, and you're expected to bring real AI fluency to how you plan and execute — not just awareness of the tools that exist.
Why You Belong Here and How You Will Grow
This is a role where your fingerprints are on everything: every dinner you pull off, every happy hour that turns into a pipeline conversation, every partner activation that reinforces Slang AI's brand. The work is visible and the impact is measurable, and you'll feel that from your first event.
We operate with high trust here. People own their work, figure things out, and bring solutions rather than problems — that's Overachiever Fever in action. You'll work alongside a Marketing team, and cross-functionally with Sales and Partnerships, who approach each other with curiosity and openness rather than territorial thinking (Humility Ability), and who take Be a Good Host seriously — the experience you create for a prospect or partner is everyone's responsibility, not just yours. If you've been waiting for a role where you're actually trusted to run things, this is it.
Growth here looks like deepening ownership of the events channel as the program scales — moving from executing a calendar to shaping the strategy behind it. You'll build real expertise in hospitality-adjacent B2B marketing, and the relationships you build with Sales, Partnerships, and customers along the way create career optionality across the company as Slang grows.
What Success Looks Like
- Own end-to-end execution of Slang AI's event calendar, including partner activations, in-market dinners and happy hours, and co-hosted experiences for prospects and customers.
- Build and maintain repeatable playbooks for each event format so execution improves — not just repeats — with every activation.
- Coordinate with partners, venues, and vendors to deliver events that feel polished and on-brand every time.
- Manage the relationship with Slang's logistics partner and own materials, swag, and collateral so nothing is late or missing.
- Work closely with Sales to make sure the right people are invited, leads are captured, and follow-up happens cleanly after every event.
- Track event performance and contribute to post-event reporting so the team knows what's driving pipeline.
- Keep internal stakeholders aligned with clear timelines and proactive communication throughout every event cycle.
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years of experience in event planning, experiential marketing, or field marketing in a B2B environment.
- A track record that gets you described as organized, proactive, and someone who takes ownership of outcomes rather than waiting to be directed.
- Experience executing a mix of event formats — partner activations, hosted dinners, field events, or similar.
- Comfort managing logistics end-to-end, including vendor coordination, shipping, and materials management.
- Strong communication skills — you keep cross-functional teams informed and on track without being asked.
- Active, fluent use of AI tools in your daily work — not just awareness of what's out there.
- Preferred: experience in B2B SaaS, restaurant tech, or the hospitality industry.
- Preferred: familiarity with HubSpot or a similar CRM for guest list management, lead capture, and post-event tracking.
How Work Affects my Life
This role puts you at the center of one of Slang AI's highest-impact growth channels, with real ownership and direct visibility into how your work connects to pipeline.
- Work primarily remote with travel to events, activations, and company offsites.
- Competitive salary and equity package reflecting your expertise and contributions.
- Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and career trajectory.
- Contribute to a company mission that transforms the restaurant and hospitality industry.
Great events and great hospitality require the same instincts — this role will sharpen both, and change how you think about turning a room of strangers into a room of advocates.

Our Vision
Calling a business shouldn't feel like a robot-hostage situation, where you're forced to listen to horrible music and can't reach a human, while enduring a soulless voice uttering "I'm sorry I didn't quite get that" on repeat for eternity. (shudder) That's why we started Slang AI We use the latest AI and audio wizardry to make transacting via voice so enjoyable it's more human than human. By 2030, we will save businesses and consumers 1 billion minutes of precious time while transforming voice channels into the preferred mode of communication (it's faster and easier than text).
We have backgrounds building product at companies like Spotify, Buzzfeed, the New York Times, and OpenTable —shipping experiences that have reached hundreds of millions of users. Now, we're using our backgrounds to start a new culture, one that puts product and human-centered design above all else while fostering constant learning and growth. Sound like something you'd like to be part of? Get on board.

AI Native. We don't just sell AI. We are Al.
Humility Ability. We approach each other with curiosity and openness (know-it-alls not welcome!)
Be A Good Host. We build for hospitality. We should embody it.
