Job description: Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year Job Description - Junior Sous Chef Location: Palm Beach, Florida Department: Culinary Reports To: Sous Chef / Executive Chef Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at a high-end restaurant in Palm Beach. The Junior Sous Chef will support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, with a strong focus on consistency, quality, and execution. This role requires excellent culinary skills, strong leadership abilities, and the discipline to uphold luxury-level service standards. Key Responsibilities Assist with daily food preparation, cooking, and service across assigned stations. Ensure dishes are consistently executed to fine-dining standards in taste, presentation, and timing. Follow all established recipes, portion controls, and plating guidelines. Maintain high-level knowledge of menu items, ingredients, techniques, and seasonal offerings. Kitchen Operations Support the Sous Chef with managing day-to-day kitchen operations. Help coordinate prep lists, station organization, and service flow to ensure smooth operation. Oversee kitchen staff during service when the Sous Chef or Executive Chef is absent. Assist with inventory control, ordering, and receiving of products. Ensure proper rotation, labeling, and storage of all food items. Leadership & Team Support Provide guidance, feedback, and support to line cooks and prep cooks. Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen environment. Assist in training new staff on standards, techniques, and safety procedures. Lead by example in work ethic, attitude, and execution. Cleanliness & Safety Maintain strict adherence to local health and safety regulations. Ensure all workstations and equipment are kept clean, sanitized, and in proper working condition. Promote a culture of safety, organization, and respect within the kitchen. Qualifications 2-4 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in fine-dining or luxury hospitality. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Strong knowledge of classical and modern cooking techniques. Proven experience working high-volume, high-quality service. Ability to lead, communicate effectively, and remain composed under pressure. Strong attention to detail with a passion for excellence. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holiday schedules typical of Palm Beach seasonality. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and work in fast-paced, high-heat environments.
