About the Opportunity A lower middle-market private equity or private capital firm (representative of firms within our network) may seek a financially rigorous, entry-level Private Capital Financial Analyst to support investment teams across deal underwriting, valuation, and portfolio financial analysis . The role offers hands-on exposure to transaction modeling, capital structure analysis, diligence support, and portfolio monitoring within lean investment teams, providing early-career analysts with direct insight into how private capital investment decisions are evaluated and executed. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Financial Analysis & Modeling Build and maintain operating and transaction financial models , including 3-statement models, DCFs, and introductory LBO and return models Analyze investment returns, capital structures, leverage profiles, and downside scenarios Perform valuation analyses using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and intrinsic valuation methods Support underwriting and scenario analysis for new investments, add-on acquisitions, and recapitalizations Support diligence across financial, accounting, and commercial workstreams Analyze historical and projected financial performance, KPIs, cash flows, and unit economics Review quality-of-earnings findings and summarize key insights Assist in synthesizing third-party diligence materials into clear financial takeaways Assist in drafting investment memoranda, financial exhibits, and presentation materials Summarize key risks, sensitivities, and return drivers Provide analytical support throughout the transaction process, including signing and closing Support ongoing portfolio company financial monitoring and reporting Assist with budget reviews, variance analysis, and covenant tracking Contribute to analysis for bolt-on acquisitions, refinancings, dividend recaps, and exit scenarios Help track portfolio performance relative to original underwriting assumptions What Makes This Work Engaging Direct exposure to buy-side financial analysis and transaction economics Interaction with senior investors, management teams, and advisors Accelerated development in valuation, modeling, and capital markets Strong foundation for long-term careers in private equity and private capital Ideal Candidate Profile This profile reflects the competencies commonly sought for entry-level private capital financial analyst roles .
