Finance Accounting Manager

Are you an experienced accounting leader ready to own and build a finance function from the ground up? A growing tech company in Los Angeles is seeking a Finance Accounting Manager to take full ownership of their accounting function and serve as a key strategic partner to senior leadership. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, brings deep technical expertise, and is energized by the opportunity to build, improve, and lead. This position is onsite daily in West LA. Key Responsibilities Own the Full Accounting Function: Take end-to-end ownership of all accounting operations. From day-to-day transactions to month-end close, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the board. Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules, maintaining the highest standard of integrity and reliability in all financial data. Audit Leadership: Lead and manage all audit engagements, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors and ensuring the organization is always audit-ready. Policy & Systems Implementation: Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Drive the adoption of systems and tools that position the function for scale. Reconciliations & Account Oversight: Own reconciliations across all key accounts, maintaining rigorous documentation and ensuring balances are accurate and fully supported at all times. Analysis & Business Partnership: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to monitor spend, surface financial trends, and deliver insights that support strategic decision-making. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure the organization remains fully compliant with GAAP, government contracting regulations, and all applicable financial and regulatory standards. What We're Looking For Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a minimum of 2 years in a management or leadership role. Background in manufacturing or government contracting ideal. Public accounting experience a strong plus. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Credentials: Active CPA license or progress towards one required. Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills and comfort with financial modeling and reporting.
