Our unified commerce platform is built for big, supporting all types of events, from festivals to global arena tours, and an almost limitless suite of commerce offerings beyond admission tickets.The RoleWe’re seeking a hands-on, forward-thinking Accounting Manager who operates like a systems builder and finance leader—someone who thrives in the details but consistently steps back to design processes, strengthen controls, and scale infrastructure.This is not a “manage the close and maintain status quo” role. You’ll lead core accounting and reporting, drive operational excellence, and help architect a finance function built for growth. You’ll partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and actionable.You will be expected to elevate how accounting operates—not just execute within it. If you see broken processes and instinctively move to redesign them, this role is for you.Santa Monica, CA | Hybrid (approximately 50% in-office, 2–3 days per week)What You’ll OwnAccounting Leadership, Financial Reporting & TaxOversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAPReview and approve balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and detailed flux analysisEnsure the integrity of revenue recognition, client reporting, and payout processesOwn and enhance internal reporting packages for senior leadershipStrengthen internal controls, documentation, and close proceduresLead audit readiness and manage external audit and review processesPartner with external tax advisors to support corporate income tax and sales/use tax compliance, ensure reporting accuracy, and proactively identify tax risksSystems, Process & ScaleIdentify gaps and inefficiencies across accounting workflows—and lead redesign effortsDrive automation initiatives, system integrations, and documentation improvementsBuild scalable, repeatable processes that support rapid growthLeverage AI and modern tools to enhance speed, visibility, and decision-makingLead cross-functional special projects from ambiguous problem structured solutionCross-Functional & Strategic PartnershipPartner with Sales, Operations, Product, and Client Success to align financial reporting with business activityAct as a finance thought partner—providing insight beyond the numbersHelp leadership translate financial data into operational and strategic decisionsWhat You Bring6+ years of progressive accounting experience (Big 4 and/or high-growth tech startup experience is a plus)Strong GAAP foundation with experience managing the close process end-to-endExperience reviewing work, improving controls, and elevating accounting qualityDemonstrated ability to build structure in ambiguous, fast-moving environmentsProven track record improving workflows through automation and systems thinkingWorking knowledge of corporate income tax and sales/use tax (marketplace facilitator exposure is a strong plus)Experience with systems such as Stripe, QuickBooks Online (QBO), Ramp, and NotionCPA preferred, but strong operators without a CPA are encouragedStrong communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholdersThe PerksSalary Range: $95,000 – $120,000 + Bonus + EquityPaid Health, Dental, Vision, Life plans ($0 Premiums + Partial Dependent Coverage)Open Vacation – Unlimited PTO401(k) (50% match up to 3%)Education / Professional StipendPaid Holidays & Birthdays OffParental LeaveTeam Offsites / EventsTicket hookupsTixr is the largest, fastest-growing, privately held primary ticketing and live event commerce marketplace in the world.
