Accounts Payable Specialist

Kforce client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Los Angeles, CA. This position is 40 hours per week and onsite. Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to Accounting Department personnel. The Accounts Payable Specialist maintains accounting document files, including daily work and accounts payable, and also prints accounts payable checks (including ACH processing) and inserts them into appropriate envelopes for mailing. Assists accounting personnel as requested. Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Review invoices for appropriate approvals, coding, and supporting documentation
- Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices
- Schedule and process payments via ACH, wire transfer, and check
- Verifies that all Invoices have the required approval and documentation before paying
- Pays invoices in a timely manner
- Prints and distributes of checks/ACH processing
- Maintains the accuracy of Vendor Information
- Maintains files, including filing of accounts payable documentation and other miscellaneous filings
- High School diploma/GED and at least 1-2 years of related experience and/or training
- Work related experience must consist of a general accounting background; Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related
- Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer system, word processing, typing and spreadsheet software programs to meet the needs of the position
- Intermediate math skills - ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; Balance accountsl; Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; Locate routine mathematical errors; Compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs
- Experience with Concur and Prologue software a plus
