Accounts Payable SpecialistLocation: Montebello, CA Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour Position Type: Contract-to-HireWe are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a busy accounting department in Montebello. The ideal candidate will have strong invoice processing experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.ResponsibilitiesProcess and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approvalsPerform 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentationCode invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centersResearch and resolve vendor inquiries, payment discrepancies, and invoice exceptionsReconcile vendor statements and assist with month-end AP reconciliationsPrepare ACH, wire, and check payment batches for approval and processingMaintain vendor files, including W-9s, tax documentation, and payment informationMonitor AP aging and assist with ensuring timely payment of outstanding obligationsSupport credit card and employee expense reimbursement processingCollaborate with purchasing, receiving, and accounting teams to resolve issues and improve workflow efficiencyQualifications3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environmentStrong understanding of invoice processing, AP reconciliations, and payment proceduresExperience with 2-way and 3-way matching preferredKnowledge of general ledger coding and account allocationsIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, and formulasERP or accounting software experience requiredStrong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workloadExcellent communication skills and a customer-service-oriented approach
