Travel Nursing Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820-$1,910 Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Assignment Location: Abilene, Texas Start Date: November 2, 2026 Assignment Length: 13 weeks, ending February 1, 2027 Schedule: 3 shifts per week Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Hours: 36 hours per week Openings: 2 Orientation: 16 hours, including required learning modules Schedule Flexibility: Requested time off may be considered when full scheduled hours can be maintained Travel ICU Registered Nurse Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas, in hand at the time of submission At least 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification Previous travel nursing experience preferred Experience with Altera electronic charting preferred, but not required Ability to float to another unit or campus when needed Traveler must reside at least 150 miles from the assignment location; local candidates are not eligible Successful completion of required compliance documentation, credential verification, and pre-employment screening Flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions may be considered according to policy Availability to complete required laboratory and compliance items within 72 hours of accepting the assignment ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities Provide direct, individualized nursing care to critically ill patients using the nursing process Assess patient conditions, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes Monitor complex ICU patients and promptly recognize changes in clinical status Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established standards Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the critical care team Educate patients and families while providing clear, compassionate communication Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record Support a safe, respectful, and professional patient care environment Float to other appropriate units or campuses as assigned Apply now to advance your critical care nursing career with this Travel ICU Registered Nurse assignment in Abilene, Texas.
