Test Technician

Test TechnicianResponsible for the execution of test methodologies for various technology, following and adapting established procedures, or helping to define procedures as needed. Debugs and troubleshoots issues or failures, reports results, and may recommend root causes and solutions. Performs set-up, maintenance, and/or repairs of specialized test equipment, and may provide input on equipment selection.Principal duties and responsibilities include:Executes test plans and provides feedback to customer on outcomes or issues.Assists with set-up of specialized test equipment, as well as loading and running programs or builds.Performs routine calibration and maintenance of test equipment and tools according to standards and procedures.Performs basic repairs on test equipment as needed.Executes test methodologies for various technology, following established procedures, and documents results.Debugs and troubleshoots routine testing issues or failures and escalates other issues appropriately.Conducts basic analyses and gathers information to identify where an issue has occurred.Collaborates with individuals inside own team to complete the team's work.Communicates with team lead to provide status and information about impending obstacles.Executes individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with supervision.Adapts to moderate changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines.Level of responsibility includes:Works under close supervision.Responsible for own work.Decision-making is limited.Impact of decisions is readily apparent.Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area.Some tasks require multiple steps which must be performed in a specific order; directions or manuals can accurately document the steps necessary to perform the task.Some creativity may be required to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with novel circumstances.Limited problem solving required, generally in the nature of troubleshooting simple processes or technology.The responsibilities of this role do not include:Providing supervision to others.Having financial accountability.Having influence over key organizational decisions.Having a role in strategic planning.
