Medical Lab Scientist (MLS)

We are seeking a skilled Medical Lab Scientist for a Point of Care Testing role in the Emergency Room Lab at a facility in West Valley. This position will involve performing a variety of clinical lab tests and maintaining quality control in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM; schedule may vary
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with the possibility of extension to 26 weeks)
• Work Pattern: 7 on/7 off scheduling is available for interested candidates

Unit Information

The Emergency Room Lab provides critical care testing for patients with a focus on point of care testing. The staff works collaboratively to support patient care effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform point of care (POC) testing with accuracy and precision.
• Assist with clerical duties as assigned by nursing and lab directors to support FSED operations.
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in the lab environment.

Qualifications

• Required: Certification as a Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) through AMT, ASCP, or equivalent.
• Preferred: Knowledge and experience with point of care testing.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the laboratory setting.
