Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to evaluate the needs of elderly patients, identifying specific care requirements and developing tailored treatment plans.

• Facilitate both individual and group counseling sessions, addressing emotional and psychological challenges related to aging, life transitions, and other age-related issues.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to craft comprehensive care plans for geriatric clients, ensuring a holistic approach that encompasses physical, emotional, and social well-being.

• Educate family members and healthcare staff on best practices and preventive strategies to improve the mental wellness and quality of life of our elderly population.

• Provide specialized grief and loss counseling, supporting patients and their families in navigating the difficulties of end-of-life issues.

• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs aimed at enhancing mental acuity and promoting effective mental health interventions among elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is to serve seniors dealing with various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders related to aging. Our clientele often includes individuals facing significant life changes, such as the loss of loved ones, health declines, or transitions to new living arrangements. Through individualized therapy, you will help these individuals enhance their emotional resilience and overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience providing mental health support specifically to geriatric populations.

• Strong foundational knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions appropriate for aging clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
