Job Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations across various age groups using both standardized testing methods and observational assessments.
- Create tailored treatment plans that address immediate short-term and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy focused on language development, fluency, vocal issues, and swallowing difficulties.
- Engage with a multi-disciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to develop integrated care approaches.
- Provide educational resources for patients and families, empowering them to support progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Occasionally perform inpatient assessments and therapy to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
- Document clinical information accurately and on time in accordance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Remain updated with the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
