2026 Utility Maintenance Specialist - Seasonal

Overview The City of Oregon City is seeking to establish a hiring list of qualified candidates for the position of temporary/seasonal Utility Maintenance Specialist with the Public Works Operations Division. This is a non-union position with no benefits. Temporary/Seasonal positions could last up to 6 months. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Salary ranges: $21.00 per hour for new hires; $22.00 per hour for returning seasonal employees; $24.00 per hour for those that hold a valid CDL. This job requires submitting an online application and uploading a resume. Responsibilities Perform a variety of skilled and general labor tasks in construction, repair and maintenance of roadways; water distribution systems, storm drainage and sanitary sewer collection systems, and other related public works infrastructure. Inspecting and cleaning catch basins, field mowing, detention facility maintenance, roadside vegetation control, grounds maintenance, fire hydrant painting, pressure washing, paving laborer, traffic control, truck driving and limited equipment operation. Maintain safe working environments and communicate courteously and cooperatively with staff and the general public; work with a team or individually with minimum supervision. Must have a clean driving record. Qualifications Equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, certifications, and experience to meet the minimum qualifications may be considered. Ability to meet the physical demands of the role as described in the job posting. Background check and pre-employment drug screen required; employment is contingent upon successful completion.
