Job Summary

Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Winston-Salem, NC. This role involves providing direct and indirect patient care in a 24-bed unit within a Level 1 Trauma Designation academic medical center. The hospital is a teaching facility with specialized units such as Chest Pain and Stroke Center.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical Telemetry nursing; current licensure to practice in North Carolina; ability to read telemetry strips, manage chest tubes, trachs, PIV starts, drains, tubes, PCA pumps, and Gtts management.
• Responsibilities include providing care for patients with diagnoses such as diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal, respiratory, renal issues, wounds/dressing changes, chest tubes, and trachs.
• Supports within the department include basic nursing care, assistance to RNs, reception duties, phlebotomy, and IV/VAT team participation.
• Technology/Equipment: Epic EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing system.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Orientation: Two days of departmental orientation.
