About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Previous travel experience - Experience with IV starts, vents, telemetry, CPAP/BiPAP - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias Description: Registered Nurse position in a higher acuity unit. Mixed acuity unit with both PCU and medical-surgical/telemetry patients. Target ratios are 1:4-5, can go to 1:6 in extreme situations. Will care for patients with COPD, pneumonia, respiratory distress, and more. Some patients may be COVID-19 positive. Unit includes 48 beds, with a strong support team. Resources such as an admission/discharge nurse and rapid response teams are available. Float requirement to like units is necessary. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend, with additional shifts as needed. No nurse to have more than one ventilator patient at a time. The unit performs various procedures, including the management of chest tubes. Must adhere to strict attendance and cancellation policies. Must possess strong teamwork and interaction skills with staff and patients. Additional resources include specialized teams for vascular access and behavioral health. CNA ratio is typically 9-10:1 on the unit. Supportive interdisciplinary teams are available for patient care. Patients typically have comorbidities and require telemetry monitoring. Must be comfortable floating within facility as needed. Submission requires disclosure of previous employment with specific organizations. RTO is up to 7 days, with restrictions on the first week and holiday coverage. Completion of pre-start modules is necessary for this role.
