ER Registrar

Position Overview The ER Registrar is responsible for greeting and registering patients, verifying insurance coverage, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate demographic and medical record documentation. Key Responsibilities Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff professionally. Register patients for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services. Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations. Collect co-pays, deductibles, and payments. Input and update patient information accurately in the hospital system. Provide and ensure completion of necessary forms. Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Collaborate with staff to facilitate smooth patient intake. Answer and direct calls as needed. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred. Experience in healthcare registration or medical administration is a plus. Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology is advantageous. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive information discreetly. Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
