The facility operates as a large hospital within an academic health system, providing a broad range of specialized clinical services supported by established protocols and infrastructure. The hematology clinic is staffed by 12-13 physicians, with possible RN support and administrative personnel to facilitate coordinated patient care delivery. The facility maintains the clinical resources necessary to support locum tenens clinicians across all assigned coverage periods.

The area surrounding this assignment offers clinicians access to a range of historical, cultural, and recreational attractions suited to varied interests. Points of interest include historic landmarks along the 2.5-mile Freedom Trail, the Charles River Esplanade, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, and notable museums such as the Museum of Fine Arts and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The city's compact layout allows for ease of movement between distinct neighborhoods, and outdoor options such as cycling via the Bluebikes program and harbor cruises are available. Dining highlights and day trips to nearby destinations such as Salem and Newport, accessible by train or organized tour, provide additional options during time away from the assignment.

Clinicians will provide on-site outpatient hematology coverage within an ambulatory clinic setting, working full-time on a schedule of five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, with a hybrid onsite/tele arrangement available. The clinical scope is focused on benign hematology, encompassing the evaluation and management of conditions including ambulatory hematology, anticoagulation, sickle cell disease, and bleeding disorders; a leukemia background is also considered beneficial. No call or weekend coverage is required for this assignment. All clinical documentation must be maintained through the EPIC EMR system for all patient encounters.
