The successful candidate will be a key resource for internal clients, offering day-to-day legal advice on a wide range of issues, including governance, membership, and programs. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and strategic agreements, as well as contributing to the development and alignment of organizational policies with the company's mission. The Assistant General Counsel will also be involved in leveraging AI tools to enhance legal workflows, supporting internal training on legal and compliance matters, and coordinating with outside counsel on various legal issues. Applicants must have a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, be an active member of the D.C. Bar or eligible for membership, and have prior experience as an in-house attorney in a non-profit, membership organization, or corporation. The role requires a strong background in contract and governance document management, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
