A rapidly expanding, modern digital media brand is seeking a sharp, hands-on Senior Accountant to join their growing corporate finance team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will own core general ledger operations, drive the month-end close process, and help build out internal controls and scalable accounting workflows.

responsibilities:

• Month-End Close Management: Lead full-cycle month-end close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• General Ledger & Reconciliations: Prepare complex journal entries, perform monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, and resolve account discrepancies.
• Intercompany & Consolidations: Oversee intercompany transactions, account tie-outs, and elimination entries across multiple operating entities.
• Financial Integrity: Review GL entries for proper dimensional coding (department, project, entity) and proactively correct misallocations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with FP&A on variance analysis, cost allocation, and ad-hoc financial reporting.
• Process & Controls Improvement: Assist the Controller in formalizing internal controls, audit preparation, desktop procedures, and system enhancements.
• Operational Support: Provide backup support for accounts payable coding, vendor inquiries, and special finance projects as needed.

qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.
• Experience: 4+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience with strong end-to-end close ownership.
• Industry Experience: Background in digital media, publishing, news, or entertainment is strongly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (XLOOKUP, pivot tables, complex modeling). Hands-on experience with modern ERP platforms (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks) and AP automation tools (e.g., Bill.com).
• Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong organizational agility, and the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
