Accounting Clerk Job Description

St. Louis Parking Company is seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to support daily accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records. In this role, you will work closely with internal teams to process transactions, verify data, and assist with routine bookkeeping tasks in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Accounting Clerk Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Process invoices, payments, and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Record financial transactions and maintain organized accounting files
• Reconcile accounts, statements, and supporting documents
• Assist with accounts payable and month end activities
• Review data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as needed
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Prepare reports and summaries for management or accounting staff
• Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders
• Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information

Accounting Clerk  Minimum Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative support role is helpful
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and common accounting software
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Accounting Clerk  Physical Demands:

As part of performing the duties associated with this position, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands-to-fingers, handle tools or controls, reach with hands or arms, talk and hear.  Employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25lbs.
