About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Tele Duration: 6 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - 18+ months of recent Med/Tele experience - Strong communication and time management skills - Rural hospital experience preferred Description: Unit notes indicate that auto offers will be made as long as the traveler understands there can be no block scheduling. The facility is a rural hospital that relies heavily on travelers in Med/Tele units. The leadership team has maintained continuity for several years, but staff consistency may be challenging for some. They seek a team player who is committed to working hard and contributing to the care of the community's patients. The facility will offer either 36 hours per week or 36/48 hours bi-weekly. The unit has 25 beds, and the patient-to-staff ratio is 5-6:1. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, and chronic kidney disease. Registered Nurses will be required to titrate only Heparin. Telemonitoring technicians are present on the unit, but Nurses are required to read strips. Charge nurses and house supervisors will be available for support. Patient care technicians are on the unit, with a ratio of 12:1. Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen. Scheduling is managed by the nurse manager, and block scheduling is not possible. Travelers will be scheduled based on the needs of the facility, with every other weekend required. Holiday requirements must also be met. Floating to all Med/Surg units is expected, with potential for floating to the PCU to care for telemetry holds prior to transfer. The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs. The unit will transition to a new charting system, beginning on October 30, 2026. Cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment, or three shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks.
