General Accountant

Job Title: General AccountantTCC Family Health, founded in 1939, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), provides comprehensive, high quality health care and wellness services to those of all ages in the under resourced and underserved need in the greater Long Beach community. TCC is now a vibrant network of 14 clinic sites, including three school-based health centers, and one mobile medical clinic. Last year TCC served almost 40,000 patients through 175,000 medical, behavioral health, dental, optometry and wellness visits.TCC is seeking mission driven individuals who deeply care about the communities we serve and want to join a creative, committed organization to address not only medical needs, but also social, emotional and economic barriers to contribute to improve health outcomes for all populations.Position Summary: The General Accountant is responsible for the general accounting functions with a concentration in grant/fund accounting. Analyze accuracy and completeness of financial information, and preparing timely and accurate invoices for requesting payment from Funders. Also responsible for general ledger transactions with relation to, but not limited to, grant revenue and expensesEssential Duties And Functions:Reviews and verifies accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications including grant records and works out issues with appropriate personnelProvide support for Development, Health Education and Operation for Grant reporting as required, including Budget Comparisons.Reviews terms and conditions of awarded grants to gain an understanding of the program requirements, time frame, invoice format, and deadlinesAssists, reviews and ensures accurate computation of pay and interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll proceduresAssists with month end closings and year-end closing and audits, including grant auditsAssists in monthly GL reconciliationsPrepares reports on the financial position of the Grants and variance analysis, and informs program manager of progress and issuesPrepares and/or assists with the grant budget for new grantsAssist with TCC's annual Budgets and Budgeting ProcessReview and Approve monthly and quarterly contract and grant invoicesAssist with Government Compliance and ReportingMaintain Financial Compliance Calendar, Files and Records and ensure timely preparation and submission of all Regulatory Reports (UDS, OSHPD, and Cost Reports.
