Job Title Travel RN – Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPC) Location Asheville, North Carolina Schedule / Job Type Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Projected Start: September 21, 2026 Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit serving a primary population of CV surgery, vascular surgery, and thoracic surgery patients, as well as overflow medical cardiology patients Manage epidurals, chest tubes, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip infusions including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, and ketamine Maintain a 1:5 patient-to-nurse ratio in a fast-paced stepdown environment Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR and operate equipment including Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps Float as needed to other stepdown units (1:5 ratio), medical-surgical units (1:6–7 ratio), or ER inpatient holding areas (1:6 ratio) Meet weekend shift requirements of a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period and maintain flexibility to work holidays Required Qualifications Active RN licensure Minimum 2 years of nursing experience Stepdown unit experience Telemetry experience Current ACLS and BLS certifications Preferred Experience / Skills Prior experience within the past year with CV surgery and vascular surgery patient populations, including open heart surgery, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass CVICU experience Why Join Us Opportunity to work in a high-acuity, specialized cardiovascular stepdown environment with a collaborative and experienced care team No on-call requirements, offering a more predictable travel assignment schedule Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 772421.
